Pre-Oz, Chris had "no idea" of his effect on fans (Mar 2 2000). When asked whether his wife and family know "how crazy" some of his fans are, Chris said, "Wife knows. Have sheltered mother from the ugly reality" (Mar 7 2000). Chris was also recognized while traveling in France: "Been to France many times - loved it. Matter of fact, I was taking the train from one airport to the other three years ago, and this kid looked at me really funny. I nodded at him to say, 'Yeah, it's me,' and he smiled. It was my first European recognition - very cool" (Apr 2 2004).

About his website, Chris says that he "was told of it and asked 'Why?'" (July 24 2000) He found the idea of a website devoted to him "intriguingly head-scratching" (June 26 2000) and says, "If I could only get people to rub my belly for good luck and then throw money in my fountain, it'd be a perfect world" (Oct 29 2001). Chris also says, "I appreciate Brian immensely - there could be no one more hard-working and respectful than he. I appreciate people taking the time to look me up on the Web. I appreciate the hard-core Melonians - with their continued support, we will one day rule the world" (June 26 2000).

When asked whether there's anything about himself he would want his fans to know, Christopher said, "They already know too much" (Nov 4 2000), but he also says that the questions he receives are "not invasive" (June 19 2000). And when asked what he likes to talk about that he doesn't get bored discussing, he lists "acting, Sherman and anything that has to do with you" (Nov 14 2000).

Fans have asked Chris numerous times why he takes the time to interact with them on this website. In addition to saying, "Don't know why I do…why not" (Mar 26 2000), he's also taken to joking about it. Chris has said that he spends "so much time on this website" because "I'm an egomaniac and have lots of time on my hands" (June 26 2000) and that his habit of answering fan questions probably has "something to do with my ego. Talk to a shrink; he'll probably give you a better reason why" (Feb 16 2003). When asked whether he thinks he will always care about his fans, Chris once responded, "No. As a matter of fact, it stops right now, so stop asking me questions. Thank you" (Oct 12 2001). When asked if he's really "this real" (in terms of why he answers these questions when he's so busy), Christopher replied, "Actually, I'm really this fake and I happen to be on hiatus. Come November, bye-bye" (Oct 12 2001).

However, there was a time when Christopher seemed ambivalent about why he answers fan questions: "In a way, I wish you hadn't asked the question, because I'm beginning to re-evaluate my motives. Perhaps too much ego for my own good and for what I do. I do enjoy it, but…I gotta rethink about my motives here. Maybe take a break (this is not a threat or a ploy to get more money from Brian). On a nicer note, I truly get a kick from the people and the questions, so…" (June 19 2000).

More recently, however, when asked if he really does enjoy answering fan questions, Chris replied, "Yes, yes, a 1000 times, yes" (Oct 17 2000); "I wait breathlessly for your questions. It's just the others who are so bothersomely inane. Yours, I really, really love. Really" (Dec 6 2001); and "If I didn't wanna answer them, I wouldn't" (Feb 15 2002).

Chris receives about 20 pieces of fan mail per month (Jan 19 2001), which he says are "nice to get" (Mar 28 2000). He reads "all of it" (May 5 2000).

Christopher says that being hit on doesn't happen often, but that it feels good when it does (Mar 28 2000). It doesn't seem to bother him when people "continue to comment" on his physical attributes, since "it'll come and it surely will go, so…" (Nov 3 2001). On whether such comments from fans who are under the age of 18 make him uncomfortable, Chris says, "Not uncomfortable. Kinda flattering. Ain't it all fantasy anyway" (Aug 1 2004). When asked to describe how he feels about the fact that people see him as a sex symbol and are fans of his acting, Chris replied, "That they appreciate my work is the cake. The sex symbol thing - da frosting" (Aug 20 2000).

The worst pick-up line ever used on Christopher was "Wow, cool penis" (Apr 21 2000) and the worst pick-up line he's heard or given was "My mother would really approve" (Sept 7 2004). The "most precious compliment" anyone has ever given Chris about his acting was when "they said their brother loved me and I was the reason they came out instead of continuing on a suicidal path" (Jan 12 2001).

When in New York, Chris greets about 50 fans per week (Sept 29 2003). When asked whether the interaction with fans is "worth it," he said, "I could do without the autographs. I just don't get them. I'd rather have a short - SHORT - talk with someone, connect with them in a small way and move on. Worth it? Shit, chyeah" (Nov 4 2004). When fans approach him, Christopher says, "I never find sincerity offensive…so, be sincere" (Sept 18 2001) and "Sincerity of expression is always nice to experience" (June 28 2002).

Aside from spontaneous encounters, he would not agree to meet with his fans (Jan 12 2001; Apr 20 2005) and saya that he would not spend a day hanging out with a fan, explaining, "Well, seeing as how I'm not much of a conversationalist, I'd have to say no. I also don't really hang well" (Feb 16 2003). Therefore, it's not surprising that Chris says that invitations to come visit him on the set would be "very rare" (Jan 20 2005). However, Chris might do a "fan phone call," but says, "I'm much better at a distance. In person, I'm kind of a bore - ask Brian, he's met me" (Jan 20 2005).

Chris has been "minorly" stalked (May 18 2001) and has never had a scary encounter with a disillusioned fan, but finds "the intoxicated ones are a bit…uh, enthusiastic" (Feb 27 2004). When asked if "the lengths to which some fans go" cause him to worry, Chris replied, "Ask Madonna or David Letterman" (Jan 12 2001).

Random fact: He's never seen any Keller/Beecher fan fiction, but finds that it's "a goof to be a very small part of a very small cultural (...I think 'phenomenon' is too strong a word, but...) like that" (Aug 28 2001).
