Christopher's favourite types of food are "Indian, Japanese, French, Russian, Chinese, Italian…" (Sept 7 2004). His favourite meal, from start to finish, consists of a "martini, salad, venison and tiramisu" (Jan 12 2001); Chris takes his martini with olives (Feb 21 2001). For a "last meal," Chris would either have "venison, a great bottle of red, and tiramisu" (Sept 18 2001) or a "big, fat steak" (Aug 1 2004); Chris likes his steak rare (Jan 26 2001). He tends to eat out, rather than cooking (Dec 8 1999); when asked when he had last had a home-cooked meal, Chris said, "Ha ... that was a good one" (Apr 10 2001). [Note that he gave this answer just after the birth of his first child. - Editor] In response to a fan who wondered what kind of a cook he is, Chris said, "Ya like tuna and pasta? Come on over" (Mar 28 2000). When asked to recommend "a really good sushi restaurant in Manhattan," Chris mentioned a "joint on 7th Ave. and around 16th" and a "place in the East Village around 9th St." (Mar 28 2000) He's also said that he eats at Michael Wright’s mother’s restaurant Jezebel "a lot" and that it has "unbelievable soul food" (Apr 9 2001); his favourite dish at Jezebel is the "she crab soup" (Apr 10 2001). Chris also recommends the restaurants Bravo Gianni (Aug 28 2001) and Forty-Four & Ten (Jan 31 2005). The food that Chris would kill for is "my mother's cooking" and the cooking smell that reminds him of home is "baked brownies or cookies" (May 22 2000). Chris's favourite drinks are "my iced coffee and fine red wine" (Nov 4 2004). When not drinking iced coffee, he drinks espresso (Oct 9 2001; Jan 12 2002). When it comes to water, he drinks what comes out of the tap when in New York, but the bottled kind when in Los Angeles (Mar 3 2000). Among alcoholic beverages, Chris prefers to drink tequila and red wine (Feb 27 2004), saying that a fan offering him a "shot of Patrón" would be enough to get his attention (Oct 9 2002). In fact, when asked what kind of Mexican food he would choose to accompany his tequila, Chris replied, "Why ruin a good tequila with something as inconsequential as food?" (Jun 26 2000) Chris says that he is "a red wine guy" and that he has a lot of favourites, including "super Tuscans, Australian Syrah" (Sept 8 2004). Chris is a "big fan" of Shiraz and prefers the Penfolds brand of that wine (Nov 16 2004). He's also "partial to heavy, first pressing Trappist beer" (Oct 23 2001), particularly the Chimay brand (Apr 9 2001; Oct 23 2001). Chris's limit for drunkenness is "four tequilas, or a bottle of hearty red wine, or two martinis" (Mar 7 2000). He has never tried Absinthe (Feb 26 2004). Chris's favourite candy is "fine, fine chocolate" (Nov 4 2004) and his favourite dessert is tiramisu (Jan 20 2005). He prefers crème brûlée to chocolate soufflé (Mar 26 2000). Baby Ruths were the candy bars he liked as a child (Apr 29 2000). Chris pops his Oreos into his mouth whole (Mar 5 2000; Sept 29 2003). His favourite flavour of ice cream is German Chocolate Cake, from Baskin-Robbins (Apr 26 2000). Chris does not like peas (Apr 21 2000; May 22 2000) and won't eat deep-fried things (May 22 2000). He does not really like junk food (Aug 13 2000), saying that the last time he had any was when he ate a "Burger King Super Deluxe whatever in 1985" (Jan 21 2001). He also dislikes spicy food, since "it makes me hiccup" (Aug 13 2000). He likes neither Stove Top stuffing nor potatoes (Dec 8 1999). Random facts: When Chris gets a food craving, he reaches for protein (Oct 4 2000). He likes liver and the most exotic food he's had the nerve to try was ox marrow (Dec 4 2000). Chris likes "the works" on his pizza (Aug 28 2001). His favourite kind of cheese is Brie (Mar 7 2000).
