Chris answers a lot questions tongue-in-cheek. For those who have been around for a while it's pretty easy to tell when he's serious and when he isn't, but if you're new, perhaps not. Please remember that when reading these and don't always take the words at face value

Hi Chris! I am a *huge* fan. I want to say thanks so much for the personalized autograph I won on e-bay last year, as part of your fundraising efforts for Team POZ/AIDS. I think that what you are doing is really wonderful and I'm impressed to see you involved with so many charitable organizations. I look forward to watching SVU every Tuesday, and I'm looking forward to seeing you on the big screen in the near future!
  1. You have said that doing audio books are much more difficult than acting on screen. Are there any similarities between acting and audio books, or are they completely different from one another?
meloni   same in that you have to project characters and convey how and what they're feeling. different in that you only have your voice to do it with- great challenge
  2. I've ready somewhere that your mother is musically inclined. Do you sing and/or play any instruments? If so, which ones?
    meloni   hack guitar wanna-be. yodeler
  3. It seems that there are many no-so-great role models in the entertainment industry today. Did you have any roll models growing up? If so, who were they? Do you have any one that you look up to now?
meloni   Role models on how to conduct oneself in life?? For me I had my parents. For acting ? I had many

Thank you so much for answering my questions. It means a lot to me and I really appreciate it! Peace and God Bless.

Hey Chris, hope everything is well. I was just in New York City for National High School Model United Nations the 11th-15th of March and was hoping to see you but I guess that didn't happen =p Hope everything is good with filming and can't wait to see new episodes of SVU.
  1. Have you ever attended a United Nations Conference since you're really big into history? Would you like to attend one if possible?
meloni   No. I am not a big fan of the United nations. It's a great idea but the reality of it is a bit muddled, political, confused and impotent. And besides anytime a muckity muck comes to speak traffic comes to a halt in NYC. I'd like it better if they moved the place to Queens.
  2. I'm a sophomore in high school and was thinking of going into political science for college and then law school, what were your minors and/or majors in college?
    meloni   history. loved poli sci
  3. Where do you see our country in 10 years, and what would you like to see happen?
meloni   out of Iraq, focusing on America competing in the new world economic order. America taking a lead in going green. The demise of the religious right's hold on the Republican party

hope you have a healthy, happy and safe easter and rest of the year! Goodluck on SVU and tell the cast I say HI!! BYE CHRIS!

Hi Chris,
Thank for your time, for reading and hopefully answering my one question. I really appreciate this and I want to let you know how much you and SVU means to me. I am a big fan of you and I love watching Law and Order, SVU. This is so exciting to get in contact with you. I want to share something with you and thank you, because you are a lifesaver.

7 years ago, I was raped in my apartment. I could not fight back, I have a muscle disease. One day I saw him in the street and he smiled at me. I just froze and started shaking all over. The police did not put him in jail, it was my word against his. I had lots of injuries, but I won't get further into that.
I also have been abused when I was a child. I have had lots of therapy, but unfortunately, one therapist went to far also. (read abuse)
I have a social phobia and depression for many years now. I don't go out much.
I never got married. I have no friends. I am frightened 24/7 for people. (men)
  1. Can you give me some advice, or do you have any idea, how to get my life back again?

I really want to thank you for your time. You and SVU are very important to me and mean alot to me.
You give me comfort by acting in SVU, because in that show, you allways get the bad guy(s) and that makes me feel good inside.
It makes me cry alot too, but that is a good thing. I let the tears come and let it all out. It helps. It helps me heal.

So I really want to say to you, is that I am very grateful to you.Your acting in SVU gives me the strength to let the healing begin. I do have hope again now. Its all I have, and its better then despair. I am often desperate, but you give me hope, and somehow deep inside, when I watch your show, I know that I can conquer this fear and fight against it. Allthough, I sure could use some advice offcourse. But you give me strength also.Telling me, I am not alone with this kind of problem and you are telling me that I can overcome this and survive this. That is what you and all the SVU actors keep telling me when I am watching it every time.

You do make me feel safe again. You are the one that brings safety back into my life, and I so want to believe this.
I so need to believe this, to keep on going and move forward and not look back, at all the bad stuff that happened to me.
I want to believe and keep the faith that the police do will get the bad guy(s) in the end. So thank you. You have no idea what you mean to me... Thank you so much and thank you for your time.
meloni   I appreciate the questions and as far as confronting the past, your traumas, your fears...it's a lot of weight you're carrying on your shoulders. I believe that the show may relieve some of this burden but that in the end we all need human connection- whether it's thru family or friends or professional help. Talking it thru and getting at the roots of what happened, how it happened, how it had impacted us and how and where we find the 'tools' to try and 'fix' what is crippling us. self reflection is great but I think being victimized causes a deep trauma that needs to be addressed with help that comes from reaching out in some way. I'm glad the show helps and I hope that you find other lifelines that help you to continue to overcome.
  2. Have you ever visited The Netherlands, as in Europe, where I live?
    meloni   been to Amsterdam- awesome
  3. If not, is it possible for ya to visit my country, since you are a very busy man...
meloni   I am due for a visit

I wish I would be able to give ya a big hug, allthough that scares me too... sorry... ;)
I am not scared to give ya a digital hug. So this one is for you.

(((((((((((((((((((CHRIS))))))))))))))))))))

And I do love ya... and you probably know in what way right now.
You are my HERO and that will never change. ;)

Your biggest fan: Frodien, The Netherlands, Friesland, Europe

meloni   peace
