Thanks Chris for taking the time to answer my questions. I am such a big fan of the show, and have watching it since it first aired. I think you are an amazing and talented actor, and really sexy. The work you do on Law and Order SVU is extraordinary, and I also thought you were great on OZ. So thanks again for answering my questions, and here they are:
  1. When you get your scripts for the show how much input do you have as far as what you feel will work or not work in a particular scene?
meloni   a great amount. I have a pretty good feel for the rhythm and flow of a scene
  2. Many of the episodes on Law and Order SVU deal with very difficult subject matter such as rape, and child abuse. Has there ever been an episode that you found hit cord with you emotionally? How do you, as the actor, deal with some of the more gruesome issues that are discussed with in a particular episode?
meloni   I'd say about 30 episodes were extremely tough- all have to do with kids. well thank God it is just a job and I don't have to deal with real people in real grief and real scumbags so...i deal
  3. So far season eight has been really good. I will say however, that though I like Connie Neilson's character Dani Beck on the show, I felt she and Stabler weren't a good match for each other. I am so glad Oliva will be back with Stabler now. I think they are better partners for each other. Can you give any other hints as to what can be expected during this season, as far as Stabler's relationships with his wife, his children and with his partner Oliva?
meloni   since I responded to this so late I guess this question has already been answered in the season

Again thanks for answering my questions, and for doing the amazing work that you do. I really wish you had won that Emmy, I was rooting for you. Well maybe next year you'll be nominated again. You really should be because you are just an excellent actor. Keep up the good work. Thanks again, and have a great day.
meloni   thanks for the kind words

  1. You said that you would like to work on "The Shield". Why? And would you want to be a good guy or bad guy?
meloni   I enjoy how they shoot the show and how they tell stories. i think bad would be fun
  2. Why doesn't anybody in the entertainment industry (except Clooney) care about Darfur? Do you think you could do something to make a difference there?
meloni   i don't know but God bless George. I can always try. thank you
  3. What do you think we can do to get President Bush to get us out of Iraq? This last weekend on Meet the Press, McCain said that he wants to send more troops if he is elected. Your thoughts?
meloni   Bush ain't getting out- it will be the perfect problem to put in the Dems laps (or the next Rep). I have always felt the Pres and his neo con boys were lying about WMD's. our reason was a lie. I feel we should have had 'regime change' in the first gulf war. I feel- and this is beyond obvious-we had far too few troops to secure the country which would have made the whole job a bit easier. sending troops now?????- now it's the Iraqi gov't fucking things up. I say 2 year deadline, phased withdrawal, Iraqi leaders get yer shit together cause we're going bye bye. how's that?
koryisma   Answered Dec 22nd 5:12 PM
Thanks for opening this forum up for questions!
  1. Is there anything you'd like to see for Stabler in the future?
meloni   I'd like to undercover in a pedophile ring
  2. As a relatively new SVU fan, I'm a bit disturbed at the amount of fanfiction that's out there... have you ever read any of it, and if so, what do you think about it?
meloni   never seen it. why disturbed????
  3. If you could write a parody or comedic episode of SVU, what would it look like?
meloni   my kinda comedy is not for polite company, or for the hallowed halls of a Brian Rodgers enterprise.

Hey Chris.
First, I just want to say thank you for being a really great actor. I know that you get this constantly, but I really do think that you are an amazing talent!A lot of your work has inspired me as an artist and how I approach my craft. I only have one question so here it goes.
  1. (I am a performer (struggling) and I have been in a down period with a lack of auditions and not really finding opportunities to perform. I am also a writer, so I am more determined than ever to just do my own work. Anyway, on to the question. If you ever had a severe period where you were not performing - as in the work/auditions were not coming in - how did you manage to stay on top of your craft? Making sure that you have not lost touch with your art?
    peace. lots-of-love.& happiness!

Thank you so much for your time! Take care and all the best! And I hope that you have a great holiday!
meloni   I was you for about 12 years. even at times that I was working in stuff but it was not fulfilling, I wrote or went back to an acting class, or took what I wrote and performed it in acting class. being creative- whatever form it takes always helps. good luck

meloni   anything that allows you express yourself...why not
  3. Do you have any type of favorite charities if so which ones and why?
meloni   SMILE TRAIN fixes cleft palates for kids in poor countries.
CLOWN CARE sends clowns to visit kids in hospitals
MONTEFIORE CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER cares for and counsels families/kids affected by abuse
    MS
those are the main ones and the reason why??? It feels good to help, especially kids

  1. Did you always want to be an actor, or do you have a different dream?
meloni   I had a million dreams. but I always wanted to be a football player
  2. Are the episodes of Law & Order based on true crimes, like specifically related to a particular crime?

  1. What is the hardest part of playing Detective Stabler?
meloni   making the dialogue fit in my mouth sometimes
  2. So far, we've seen you break it down in many interviews and behind-the-scenes footage: what is your favorite song to dance to?
meloni   anything that has a beqat I can relate to
  3. I'm sure you get lots of fan mail and fan gifts... rather than send you something meaningless (seeing as we've never met), if I were to send a donation to a charity in honor of your work, what types of causes are you most passionate about?
meloni   read the answer I gave above and there is yer answer

Thanks for your hard work and helping shed light on taboo topics! The awareness really is something I know that I personally appreciate.

  1. Have U ever been scared to fly? My brother is paying for my Mom to go back home...Germany, he did that 4 her when my daughter was about 3...Now my daughter is almost 17 and my Mom wanted us to go...I am telling U I am not afraid of a lot of stuff, but flying and highways scare the hell out of me. U fly a lot, but does it bother U & U just do it bcuz U have 2? People talk a lot of shit to me about my fear and I feel bad because Bianca says she scared bcuz I put that on her...She wants to go w/ her Oma, but I just can't seemed to do it. So just want to know since U fly a lot just how safe is it?
meloni   glad you asked- I AM an expert. flying is safe. I love it. Ask your Dr. for some tranqualizers. I don't take them but maybe you should
  2. That kiss Tuesday night between Becker & Stabler was weak...Becker is a rough gurl and Stabler is pure attitude...This was not daytime TV soaps...Stabler comes across to me that 1 min U wanted knock his ass out, but the next U want to throw him in bed and go nuts...They should of had Becker after being sad knock on Stabler's door and just throw down...That is the rough, tom boy, but sexy girl she is Repping for all us...Miss Benson, can't wait until she is back, but Becker needed to step in romance wise for Stabler...Maybe he needs a little booty smacking.
    meloni   ...right...about those tranqualizers...take a couple

Last but very important won Oz off of Ebay 1 thru 6...That was what I was going to do on my 4 day weekend, But seller has not sent it yet...So many by Christmas I can finally say I have seen Oz...I hope U & Ur family have a Happy Thanksgiving.
meloni   you'll get yer booty smacking with Oz, sister...and then some

meloni   great reputation, nice structure, and it seemed like a vital, happy place
  3. Was it at all awkward for you to film the "kiss" scene with connie?
meloni   there are more awkward things to do than to be paid to kiss Connie. I t was great

Patricia   Answered Aug 16th 10:15 PM
I can’t really think of any questions I would like to ask you that you haven’t already answered in the FAQ’s. The only question I do have is posted below. I wanted to take the chance to say that I am fan of yours (obviously). I think you are a very talented actor and I know one of the reasons I am a fan of yours is that you seem so humble with all of your success. I look forward to seeing your future projects.
  1. I read an article saying that you were filming a movie in New Mexico and that you had never been there before. I was born and raised in northern New Mexico and am curious as to what you thought of it. Did it live up to its name as “The Land of Enchantment”? (Did you like it or did you think it was terrible?)
meloni   I loved New Mex. I had been before and I find northern NM truly enchanting. The high desert and the spirits of the past are a pwerful feeling. Albuquerque I didn't really get but...

Oh yeah, good job on Celebrity
Trish   Answered Aug 16th 10:12 PM
I must say that you continue to delight my Tuesday night. I do like you in fewer suits and more casual jeans and skin tight shirts. My husband does get a little pissed when he can't get my attention for 60 minutes.
  1. I saw you on Jeopardy and now know your smart and sexy. Great job kicking ass. Were you concerned at all or surprised about how well you did on the show?
meloni   I'm just glad I didn't suck. I was pretty confident
  2. Do you plan on being with SVU beyond this season? I'm not sure I can watch without you.
meloni   making plans in public seems to ruffle feathers sometimes so... we'll see, I won't speculate
  3. How would you feel if you left SVU and it flopped? Would you feel responsible in any way.
    meloni   no comment

That last question was to get you to think about the loyal fans who watch every week that would be destroyed if we didn't get our 60 minutes each week to enjoy all of your talents. No pressure there. Also my Nebraska Huskers are going to kick Buff ass this year.
meloni   lemme see how the buffs do vs. Fla St then we'll talk
Melinda   Answered Aug 16th 11:43 AM
As if you havent heard this before but I am one of your biggest fans if not the biggest. I enjoy L&O SVU the best. Your acting has to have some of your own personality in it and that's what I find so fasinating. Of course your good looks are a plus also.
  1. I know you give to so many charities already, but there is one that you may want to take a look at. It is a foundation that raises money for the research for a very rare but deadly disease known as Thrombotic Thrombocyctopenia Purpura, TTP for short. It's known as the brittbalserfoundation.org. Unfortunately I have been afflicted with this disease for 16 yrs and have had 22 relapses which is rare in it's own rite. Take a look at the disease online or I can email you the TTP primer which makes it much easier to understand if you are interested. It affects people of all ages. The foundation was started by a father who lost his young daughter to the disease. But many of us who suffer are older in age and there is no cure for the diease. Only remisssion. Something to think about.
meloni   thanks I will check it out
  2. Do you have any new movie roles coming up in the near future?
meloni   4 small roles coming out in the next year

You are the shining star of nightime TV. Keep up the good work and hope to see you in a movie or 2 soon. Love Always!!
Zoey   Answered Aug 16th 11:41 AM
First time I ever saw you act was in "In a Childs Name" on lifetime (I was like 14) then years later I discovered SVU and fell completely in love with the show. Since then I've seen a lot of your other work such as OZ (of course) and your various movie roles. I'll spare the cliche "you're such a great actor and you're so hot". You already know you're loved like whoahdotcom (I expect a cute comment about that one...come on I know you got one up your sleeve somewhere. haha)But I would like to tell you that I consider actors like you (dedicated and good at their craft) a rarity. So thank you. ::insert cute smile here::
  1. I like to keep journals..actually they're more like scrapbooks. You know, pictures of friends and family, things I've gone through or done, blah blah blah. Did you ever have something like that? A journal or scrapbook or tin box with a bunch of stuff in it?
meloni   kept a journal for a long time- I reread it and found it trite and depressing.
  2. If you could've been born in another era, which era would you choose?
meloni   any time in NYC up to the 50's
  3. Are you open to hearing about new bands or locals? Or do you tend to stick with music that you know? If you're open to new stuff, you should check out The Dave Matthews Band if you never have.
meloni   I'm open but I am rarely inspired by the music or the lyrics. I Like Dave

You rock my socks like whoahdotcom and I'm really glad that you've had so much success. Hopefully you'll pick up that Emmy next year. ::blows a kiss:: mucho mucho amore! =)

Hey Christopher,
I guess my good fortune at Tower came to an end at celebrity bartending where my luck ran out! Oh well, it will make it all the sweeter the next time I am fortunate enough to have a Meloni encounter.
Here we go:
  1. What "stuff" of Christopher Melon's does Elliot Stabler have on his desk, in his locker, etc?
meloni   you'll have to pay attention more I guess
  2. What made you go lake rather than ocean? (being a laker myself, I couldn't agree more!)
meloni   ocean is greaat, but the constant wind gets a bit much and I don't like the ocean in the winter unless it's in a warm place
  3. Assuming you've got an ipod, what are the last three songs you put on it?
    meloni   Tool, Train, Buckcherry

peace and love,

But first I want to say we are all big fans of Law and Order SVU in my house... my mom , myself self and my little sister and my brother too. My brother thinks you are cool. And my sister, my mom and me ...well we think you are cute, sexy and you have a great smile...and of course we love your acting ;)
Well here are my questions.
  1. What are the three things you want to do most before you die and why?
meloni   have a beautiful, classic film made. see both my kids grow up healthy and happy, travel the world with goodwill missions (smile train etc)
  2. If you could live your life over what would you want to change most and why?
meloni   if I knew what I know now??-don't worry about money as much
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions...it really means a lot to me
